On 28 July 2019, the Airbus A320-321 of Elektra LTD performed a charter flight from Hurghada (HEGN) to Warsaw (EPWA). There were 185 persons on board including 6 crew members. On the day of the accident the final section of RWY11 beyond TWYN2 entrance was closed due to renovation works, what was appropriately marked. The landing was performed in daylight, VMC. FO was Pilot Flying. At 15:53 hrs UTC the aircraft touched down on RWY11 within the designated zone. During the landing roll FO applied brakes manually. The aircraft did not slowed down before entering TWYN2 and rolled out of the edge of the RWY11 usable section while deviating to the left from its centre line. As a result of an abrupt braking in the final phase of the landing roll power cords supplying RWY11 edge lights were damaged. After slowing down the crew performed right backtrack to return to the usable section of RWY11.
