W dniu 17 lipca 2023, na lądowisku Chrcynno (EPNC), realizowane było szkolenie praktyczne Class Raiting Cessna SET. Szkolenie realizowane było na samolocie Cessna Grand Caravan 208B (SP-WAW). W szkoleniu brało udział trzech pilotów: pilot instruktor i dwóch pilotów szkolonych. Loty rozpoczęły się o godz. 14:05. Piloci wykonywali loty w strefie i loty po kręgu nad lądowiskiem. Większość operacji startów i lądowań wykonywanych było z prawym kręgiem (północnym) do RWY 28. Podczas lotów po kręgu ćwiczony był m.in. manewr TAG (ang. touch-and-go), polegający na przyziemieniu i natychmiastowym starcie. O godz. 19:25 samolot wystartował do ostatniej serii kręgów, po których loty miały się zakończyć. Na pokładzie samolotu znajdowali się w tym czasie: pilot instruktor i obaj szkoleni piloci. Po wykonaniu kręgu pilot szkolony skonfigurował samolot do lądowania, a następnie wykonał przyziemienie i natychmiastowy start. Po oderwaniu się samolotu od powierzchni RWY 28, na wysokości około 10 m AGL sterowanie samolotem przejął pilot instruktor. Po przejęciu sterowania, zwiększając zakres pracy silnika, pilot instruktor wykonał zakręt w lewo, pogłębiając płynnie przechylenie. Przy przechyleniu około 60 stopni samolot zaczął ześlizgiwać się na lewe skrzydło, tracąc wysokość. Przy przechyleniu 70 stopni doszło do kontaktu lewego skrzydła z nawierzchnią trawiastą lądowiska. Chwilę później, tj. o godz. 19:40, samolot zderzył się z samochodem terenowym, a następnie z blaszanym budynkiem, w których przebywali ludzie. Na pokładzie samolotu znajdowało się trzech pilotów, w tym instruktor, który poniósł śmierć na miejscu. W wyniku zdarzenia łącznie śmierć poniosło 6 osób (5 na miejscu i 1 w szpitalu), a 7 odniosło poważne obrażenia. Samolot uległ zniszczeniu. W wyniku zderzenia pilot instruktor poniósł śmierć na miejscu. Obaj szkoleni piloci odnieśli lekkie obrażenia ciała i opuścili samolot o własnych siłach. Cztery osoby przebywające w budynku i w jego bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie poniosły śmierć na miejscu. Osiem innych osób (w tym jedno dziecko) odniosło obrażenia ciała. Jedna osoba w wyniku odniesionych obrażeń zmarła w szpitalu dwa dni po wypadku. W wyniku zdarzenia śmierć poniósł także pies, znajdujący się w budynku. Samolot i budynek zostały zniszczone.

On 17 July 2023, the Class Rating Cessna SET training was carried out on the Chrcynno airfield (EPNC). The training was carried out on a Cessna Grand Caravan 208B, registration marks SP-WAW. Three pilots participated in the training: a flight instructor and two pilots in training. The flights started at 14:05 hrs. The pilots performed flights along aerodrome traffic circuit and in a flight zone. Most take-off and landing operations were performed along the right (northern) traffic circuit to RWY 28. While flying along the circuit, among others, TAG (Touch & Go) maneuver was trained, consisting in touchdown and immediate take-off. At 19:25 hrs the plane took off for the last series of circuits, after which the flights were to be terminated. At that time on board of the aircraft were: the flight instructor and both pilots in training. After completing the circuit, the pilot-intraining configured the aircraft for landing, then performed a touchdown and immediate take-off. After lift off from the surface of RWY 28, about 10 m AGL, the flight instructor took over the control of the plane. After taking over the control, the instructor increased the engine power, made a turn to the left, gradually deepening bank angle. With a bank angle of about 60, the plane began to slide on the left wing, losing height. At a bank angle of 70 degrees,the left wing came into contact with the grassy surface of the airfield. Moments later, i.e. at 19:40 hrs, the plane collided with an all-terrain vehicle, and then, with a sheet metal building, where some persons were staying. As a result of the collision, the flight instructor died on the spot. Both pilots in training suffered minor injuries and left the aircraft on their own. Four persons, who stayed in front of and inside the building died on the spot. Eight other persons (including one child) were injured. One person died in hospital two days later as a result of injuries suffered during the accident. A dog in the building also died as a result of the accident. The plane and the building were destroyed.
